Bio

Tory Harvey is a 1980 graduate of Dallastown Area High School, where he played basketball and tennis. He has previously coached basketball at York Suburban High School, Solanco High School, Red Lion Area Senior High School, Penn State York, and Dallastown Area High School. Harvey has earned recognition as Coach of the Year in both the YAIAA High School League and the PSAC Collegiate League. He has led teams to division, league, and PIAA District 3 Championships.

Harvey holds a master of education degree in counselor education from Western Maryland College, Westminster, Maryland, and a bachelor of science degree in business administration and a business education teaching certification from York College of Pennsylvania, York, Pennsylvania.

After retiring as the director of athletics and safety/driver education coordinator from Dallastown Area School District, with thirty-five years of service in the field of education, Harvey works part-time at York Suburban School District assisting with interscholastic athletic events, and with the Behind The Wheel Driving Program. Harvey also served on the PIAA District III Committee for sixteen years, chairing golf and then volleyball. He remains involved assisting the committee with various events.

Harvey is extremely excited to be coaching at such an excellent campus in York again with Penn State. He served as the head women’s basketball coach in 1996–97. He welcomes student-athletes to reach out to him to discuss the outstanding opportunity Penn State York can afford them academically and athletically.

A York County native, Harvey resides in York Township with his wife, Susan, and their lovable dog, Max. He is the extremely proud father of his son, Nathan, a Temple University graduate, who resides in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.

In his spare time he enjoys spending quality time with his family and valued friends while also making the time to relax in Bethany Beach.
