Deriq Brown Breaks All-Time Scoring Record in the PSUAC

Penn State York Men's Basketball Senior Deriq Brown, No. 5, was honored for capturing the top spot for all-time leading scorers in men’s basketball at Penn State York in the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) with more than 1,400 points scored, and he continues to rack up points in each game he plays. He was honored prior to the start of the men’s basketball game against Penn State Schuylkill on November 28, 2023. Brown took the title from Penn State York Alumnus Logan Steckel, a 2015 graduate, whose career points were 1,397. Steckel, along with his young son, presented Brown with the game ball that was used in the November 17 game at Penn State DuBois when he broke the record.

Some of you may remember a player named Derek Myers who played for Penn State York in the Commonwealth Campus Athletic Conference (CCAC) from 2002-06 and scored 1,786 points in 81 games.  Myers was the top-scoring player when the campus played in another conference.  Kudos to him for his play.
