Penn State York Baseball to Play Baseball at WellSpan Park

Penn State York Baseball to Play Baseball at WellSpan Park

A snowstorm didn’t stop Penn State York and the York Revolution from celebrating baseball on Tuesday, February 13 when they revealed a partnership that allows WellSpan Park to be the official home of Penn State York baseball for the next three years. The ceremony took place at 12:30 p.m. in the 1741 Club at the ballpark. The first game will take place at 2:00 p.m. on March 22. The baseball team will call WellSpan Park home thanks to a generous grant ($45,000) from the York County Community Foundation's Bob Hoffman Sports and Fitness Fund.

Representatives from Penn State York — Di Hershey, director of development; David Christiansen, chancellor; Scott Simonds, director of student affairs; and Jeff Barkdoll, director of athletics — worked with Eric Menzer, York Revolution president,  to establish the partnership that will allow the York baseball team to play at the ballpark.

Speakers at the ceremony included Menzer, Christiansen, Barkdoll, and Todd Meckley, head baseball coach at Penn State York.  The baseball team was a part of the ceremony as was the Nittany Lion. The first game at WellSpan Park is set for March 22 at 2:00 p.m. against Penn State Scranton.
