Wilkes Barre Baseball Gets Ready for York Series

Penn State Wilkes Barre Baseball is all set for a 3 game series against Penn State York this weekend. Game 1 will be Thursday April 4th at 3:30 pm at Hilldale Park. Games 2 and 3 will be a doubleheader on Saturday April 6th in York, The first game of the doubleheader will be at 2pm and the second at 4pm. 

Penn State York has been having a solid year so far as they are 6-3 overall with a 4-2 in conference record. However, they are on a small 2 game losing streak in which they lost both games by a combined 16 runs. These 2 loses were there only 2 in conference loses as they both came at the hands of Penn State Schuylkill. York's hitting has been led by John "JP" Dyson who leds the team in hits with 9 in 31 at bats bringing his average up to .290. Brendon Delridge has also been a bright spot for York as he leads the team in both RBIs (10) and homeruns (2) this season. Delridge has been York's best pitcher with a stunning 1.21 ERA in 22.1 innings pitched as well as 20 strikeouts and just 6 walks. 

Wilkes Barre is coming in hot winning 3 out of the last 4 and a 3-1 conference record. They just won a 3 game series against Penn State Brandywine taking 2 out of 3 out scoring their opponent 22-18. Wilkes Barre is led by Richard Sott, Leroy Fettig and Brandon Hardiman. Sott leads the team in batting average, stolen bases, runs and on base percentage. Sott is also 11th in the conference in batting average with a .407 average and 6th in the confrence in stolen bases with 5. Leroy Fettig is tied for the lead on the team in RBIs and leads the team in homeruns. Hardiman is a player who can do it all. He can hit as well as pitch. Hardiman is second on the team in batting average with .370, tied for first in RBIs with 7, first in earned run average with 2.79, second in stolen bases with 3 and first in strikeouts with 10.
