The hometown Scranton Lady Lions played well early on and pushed York to a 10-10 draw at the end of the first quarter of play. However, from there York seized control of the contest and never looked back, as they outscored Scranton 20-6 in the second quarter, 30-7 in the third, and in the fourth and final frame, 18-12, as they cruised to their dominant 43 point triumph.

Gatto notched another double-double, as she scored a team-high 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, to go along with her trio of assists, a steal, and a three pointer to boot in her stellar 36 minutes on the court. Collins provided a quality low post presence all game long, tallying a double-double as well, with 11 points and a team-high 16 boards, to go along with two blocks, and an assist in the 35 minutes on the floor. Honorable mention also goes to sophomore forward Alicia Gagner who chipped in with a noteworthy 10 rebounds in the matchup.

For the Penn State York side of things, they were led on offense by a trio of ball players who scored in double figures, as senior Jordyn Foster, junior Jayla Brown, and sophomore Jillian Foster were sensational throughout the night. The upperclassman Foster scored a game-high 21 points on an efficient 9-15 shooting from the field and 2-5 from beyond the arc, to go along with her five rebounds, two assists, and a steal to boot in her stalwart 34 minutes of game action. Brown tallied 14 points, six steals on defense, five boards, four assists, and made 1-4 of her shots from three point land. Last but certainly not least, the younger Foster added 12 points on 6-11 shooting from the field, to go along with her five rebounds, and two assists in her 36 minutes of play.

Now head coach Tom McIntyre and his Penn State Scranton Lady Lions basketball squad will look to bounce back after this defeat and capture their first win of the season when they next travel on the road to take on conference rival Penn State Brandywine this Saturday, February 4th, with tip-off scheduled for 12 pm. Meanwhile, head coach Tory Harvey and his Penn State York ball club, who snapped a three game losing skid with their victory over Scranton that improved their overall record to 10-10 and 7-6 in the crucial league play schedule, will look to continue their winning ways when they next host conference foe Penn State Schuylkill this Saturday afternoon for a 1pm matinee showdown.
