Wilkes Barre Loses First Game in Doubleheader to York

Penn State Wilkes Barre loses their first game of the doubleheader against Penn State York on Sunday. This brings Wilkes Barre to 5-6 overall and 5-2 in conference. 

York got the scoring started early on as they scored a quick run in the bottom of the first to take a 1-0 lead. Wilkes Barre battled back though and scored 2 runs in the 3rd inning to take a 2-1 lead. The first run for Wilkes Barre came on a Richard Sott single to center which scored Fagotti from 3rd to tie the game at 1. Brandon Hardiman drove in Wilkes Barre's only other run later on that inning as he grounded out to 3rd base but Staskiel was still able to score. Staskiel had a pretty good game going 2-3 from the plate with a run scored. Delridge was the winning pitcher for York as he went the distance pitching a complete game giving up just 2 earned runs on 4 hits and also adding 8 strikeouts. Brian Hardiman was the losing pitcher for Wilkes Barre as he went 5.1 innings giving up 3 earned runs on 4 hits and totaling 4 strikeouts and 4 walks.

Wilkes Barre will play York again for the second game of the doubleheader as they try to tie up the series 1-1.
