Colon Named PSUAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

Emily Colon (Lancaster, Pa. / Lancaster Catholic High School) is the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week. The 5'6" senior poured in 30 points in a big home win over rival Penn State Mont Alto on Friday, Jan. 12, tying her season-high.

Colon averaged 20 points per game on 45% shooting during three games over the past week, which also included a big win over Mid-Atlantic Christian and a loss at Penn State Schuylkill.

On the season, Colon is averaging over 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists while playing 29 minutes per game. She leads the team in scoring, field goal and free throw percentage, and minutes played.

Penn State York (7–8 overall, 3–3 PSUAC) enters the final three weeks of the regular season in good position to make a run at the conference playoffs. The last time the team made the playoffs was the 2013–14 season.

Penn State York next hosts Penn State Fayette on Friday, Jan. 19 at 6 p.m. in the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center Gym. All home games are free and open to the public.
