Women’s Basketball Routs Penn State Mont Alto, 76–51

Penn State York Women's Basketball routed Penn State Mont Alto at home, 76–51, on Friday, Jan. 12. York's defense held Mont Alto to only eight and six points in the second and third quarters, respectively, on the way to the team's third straight win by more than 20 points.
 
After falling behind 20–14 at the end of the first quarter, York closed the gap by outscoring Mont Alto 23–8 in the second. York's stifling defense continued in the third quarter, only allowing 6 points while scoring 28, allowing the home team to cruise to the win.
 
Senior Emily Colon (Lancaster Catholic) tied her season-high with 30 points to lead Penn State York. Janelle Kress (Littlestown) added 11 points, and Karra Thomason (Bermudian Springs) pulled down 11 rebounds while scoring 8 points. As a team, York forced 17 turnovers and held Mont Alto under 30% shooting.
 
Penn State York improves to 7–7 overall, and 3–2 in the conference, and travels to Penn State Schuylkill on Monday, Jan. 15 for a 4 p.m. game on Martin Luther King, Jr. day.
