Once leading by as many as 16 in the second quarter, Penn State York gritted out a 54–51 win in a back-and-forth game against Penn State DuBois at home on Saturday, Dec. 2.

Neither team shot particularly well on the day, and Penn State DuBois enjoyed a nice margin over Penn State York on the boards, but York forced an incredible 29 turnovers and was ultimately able to close out the game on top.

York found itself down by six with just over two minutes to play, but scored seven straight points to take a one-point lead. After trading free throws, Janelle Kress (Littlestown, Pennsylvania / Littlestown High School) made a jump shot with under 30 seconds to play. A DuBois basket would bring the visitors within one, but Emily Colon (Lancaster, Pennsylvania / Lancaster Catholic High School) iced the game for York with two free throws.

Colon led all scorers with 18 points, to go along with 9 rebounds. Karra Thomason (New Oxford, Pennsylvania / Bermudian Springs High School) added 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 steals for York.

With the win, Penn State York improves to 4–4 (2–1, PSUAC). York visits Penn State Brandywine Tuesday evening, with tip-off scheduled for 6 p.m.
