Twenty-Four Shots, Wild Second Half Nets Men’s Soccer Big Win

Penn State York Men's Soccer leading scorer Carter Miller found the net four times as Penn State York pulled out a 7–3 win over Penn State Worthington Scranton at home Saturday afternoon. Casey Tober recorded two goals and an assist, Carlos Robles-Flores scored his fifth goal of the season, and Jack Jaramillo and Miller both added assists. York tallied twenty-four total shots in the goalfest.

After scoring two goals in each half, Penn State York sat on a 4–1 lead as the clock ticked past the eighty-minute mark before Christian Toussaint brought Worthington Scranton to life, scoring his second goal of the day on an eighty-first minute breakaway.

Worthington Scranton would score again just three minutes later to pull to only one goal behind at 4–3, but Penn State York would go on a crazy run of three goals in three minutes to close out the game. Miller finished his hat trick on eighty-seven minutes, Robles-Flores recorded his goal one minute later, and then just one minute after that Miller would tally his fourth of the day.

The win takes Penn State York to the top of the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) standings on points in the young season, with a conference record of 2-1-1. The local lions have a quick turnaround, traveling to Penn State Brandywine (1-0 PSUAC, 5-3 overall) on Monday. The 4 p.m. game will be streamed live from Brandywine's soccer field.
