Justin Luton Named PSUAC Defensive Player of the Year

The Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) announced on Sunday, Feb. 18 that Justin Luton is the Co-Defensive Player of the Year for his play in the 2017–18 season. Luton shares the award with Jonathan Buie of Penn State Lehigh Valley.

The 6'6" junior from Baltimore, Maryland (New Town) hit career high averages in points (8.4), rebounds (7.4), assists (1.8), and blocks (1.7) this season. Luton shot 57.7% from the field in 2017–18.

Majoring in information sciences and technology, Luton scored a season-high 18 points on 8–11 shooting in a 77–62 win at Penn State Worthington Scranton on Nov. 28. His season-high 5 blocks on Jan. 23 helped Penn State York to an 89–88 overtime win against Penn State Lehigh Valley, with 2 of those 5 blocks coming in the extra period.
