Baseball Drops Doubleheader Against Schuylkill

Game 1:

Penn State Schuylkill traveled to Penn State York on Saturday to complete the three-game series. In game one of the doubleheader, Penn State York would get off to a quick start, scoring their only runs of the day in the Bottom of the 1st. Austin Lehman (Millersburg, Pa. / Millersburg) and Brady Lefever (Elizabethtown, Pa. / Elizabethtown) would both score to give Penn State York a 2-0 lead. Lehman would score on a wild pitch and Chad Speiser (Dillsburg, Pa. / Northern York) collected an RBI on a sacrifice-fly that would score Lefever. 

Ross Murog (York, Pa. / Dallastown) started on the mound for Penn State York. After throwing two scoreless innings, Murog would run into trouble in the third-inning. Penn State Schuylkill would score all twelve of their runs in the third-inning. Murog would be charged with the loss for Penn State York, pitching 2 2/3 innings while allowing ten hits, eleven runs (eleven earned), while striking out two in the short outting. Evan Tanner (Windsor, Pa. / York Catholic) would finish the rest of the game for Penn State York, pitching 2 1/3 innings while allowing three hits, one run (one earned), and one walk. 

On the mound for Penn State Schuylkill, Steele Fekette would pitch a complete game (five-innings) while allowing just three hits, two runs (one earned), four walks, and struck out two on the day. Fekette improves his record to 1-0 on the year. 

For Penn State York, Speiser, Lehman, and Brad Church (York, Pa. / York Suburban) all recorded one hit and Brendon Delridge (York, Pa. / York Suburban) walked twice. 

Penn State Schuylkill won the game by mercy rule after five-innings with a final score of 12-2, which evened the series at 1-1. Penn State York would look to bounce back in game two of the doubleheader.
