Penn State Wilkes-Barre got the better of Penn State York Baseball, taking all three games in the two-day home-and-away series April 6–7.
In the nine-inning game in York on Friday, April 6, Penn State York turned five hits and eight walks into five runs, but couldn't stop Wilkes-Barre's hit parade as the visitors reached base 19 times on 17 hits and 2 walks. Wilkes-Barre took the lead with a three-run fourth inning, and never looked back, ultimately winning 8–5.
Logan Miller (Spring Grove, Pennsylvania / Spring Grove) went 2–5 with a run batted in to lead York's offense on Friday, while Alex Peters took the loss on the mound, giving up three earned runs in five innings of work.
In the first seven-inning game of Saturday's double-header at Penn State Wilkes-Barre, the home team's pitchers managed to spread out nine York hits, avoiding big innings and giving up just four runs.
